Today, 04-18-10, marks the 1 year anniversary for Personal Web Guide! This site started with a few articles here and there and a rather generic layout and has transformed into something with more than a few articles and a (hopefully) not so generic layout!
With that being said, this site is about to undergo a change in design over this next week. The overall layout is going to remain the same, but my goal is to make it much easier for users to access articles and find content. One of the primary complains I receive is that new (and even returning) users often “get lost” and don’t know where to go to find certain content. I can certainly understand this, as often times our time is limited and we’re hoping to get whatever information we can as quickly as possible without having to waste time sifting through stuff we don’t need. This means Personal Web Guide will soon be featuring a new way of categorizing articles.
When browsing articles, users will find a full list of all content categorized by date, meaning the most recent stuff will be at the top. This makes it easy for returning users to show up and go straight to the most recent article, not having to waste time sifting through stuff they’ve already read or aren’t interested in. On the other hand, users can also browse articles by category, so if they’re only interested in reading say the philosophy content or the diet and fitness content, they can do so at their leisure without having to sift through other articles that don’t interest them.
Thanks to all my readers, to all my subscribers, to everyone who’s emailed and left comments, and to everyone who’s provided feedback, helping this site grow into what it’s become today.
